Lori graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto in 1993, where she was a classmate of James and Susie.

Lori grew up in Kingsville, a small town in Southwestern Ontario. After completing her University degree, she moved to Guelph, where she worked for Big V Pharmacies as a pharmacist – manager until 1998. At this time, Big V merged with Shoppers Drug Mart and Lori continued as the pharmacist –owner of the same store until 2004. In the summer of 2004, Lori moved to Cobourg, joining the Pharmacy 101 team in March 2005.
